Gyotaku Gallery
Gyotaku – In the 1800’s, Japanese fisherman originated fish printing to record the size and type of catch of the day. “Gyo” means fish and “taku” means print or rubbing. Ink or watercolor is placed on the fish and paper is then laid on the fish and rubbed to transfer the pigment.
