CommentsPat Schemmer Thu, 07 Jan 2010 2:12:29 pm Welcome to the temporary location of blog site of Sand Painters Art Club As this is the coldest day of the year, i'm working on the computer next to my wood stove and favorite [only] cat "Hairry". I've been planning and schemeing with Joan about the upcoming year of the Sand Painters. As you can see - i have a temporary link to a blog and page on my web site. please use the blog. pat Sun, 10 Jan 2010 11:22:17 pm A small group of Sand Painter officers and willing members met at the end of December to do some pre-planning for the 2010 Sand Painters Art Club. We will meet at the scheduled meeting in January to complete, finalize, and approve the calendar of events. So far the plan for the year has many of the tried and true events and some new twists on events. We have worked hard to make exciting and motivating gatherings and challenges for members of any mediums to express themselves. And many opportunities for your art projects to be displayed. joan Mon, 11 Jan 2010 9:29:31 am The above post was written by Joan.... Tue, 12 Jan 2010 6:08:50 am I have a web site that has instructions on how to do about anything...there are many art instructions...you will want to check it out...this is the address for a very simple roll up pencil pouch...great to go with your sketchbook. Joan Wed, 13 Jan 2010 11:41:29 am Check out this website for a photography workshop held in Hastings, NE in late February. It sounds really good. Joan Thu, 14 Jan 2010 1:04:46 pm Hey all---get a sketchbook--any sketchbook---and get ready to use it this year. Carry it with you at all times and have some fun drawing supplies to go with. A ziplock bag works really well to hold supplies. Upcoming will be an Internet link to ideas for sketchbook/journal entries. (The sketchbooks can be very simple and inexpensive or more elaborate---you decide.) Joan Fri, 15 Jan 2010 2:10:32 pm ---if you need a sketch/field bag for you or for a youth---check out this great idea---recycling a pair of jeans. Neat idea. Debby Fri, 15 Jan 2010 4:55:21 pm Talking about sketch books or journals, Pat found the neatest one in the book store in Valentine. Had a wonderful deep blue background with a cat lying around the magnetic clasp, lots of texture and shimmer. Now that should make you want to draw or write. pat Sat, 23 Jan 2010 7:19:32 pm dave just called - results from the Erinistine Quick competition on Columbus Joan Sun, 24 Jan 2010 9:29:37 am Most of you have heard me talk about my experiences with Watercolor in the Black Hills...it is open to any medium this year. I have never had a more fulfilling artistic experience than this. I call it my retreat. I will email more information if requested. My wish is that everyone have a piece of this experience. Joan Sun, 14 Feb 2010 10:37:12 am For everyone who put art in the Moo Neigh art show, helped to set up/take down, and who helped with the reception during the Bull Bash...It all looked great and was a wonderful addition to the Bull Bash. joan Tue, 23 Feb 2010 11:06:33 pm Great Sand Painter's gathering tonight.
